Enchanting blue eyes.

One week old babies.

After the hectic hours of birth, comes the moment of meeting the babies and they immediately put a spell on me, on us and on everybody who meets them. Mum is the first, under their spell she changes from a playful cat into a mother and the change is impressive. Our love and respect for her grows more and more every day. Weeks ago she enthusiasticly ran after a toy and now she creates a serene environment for her babies. It is all love and  care in her den.

One week old babies.
The first week mum is totally focust on her kittens, she only leaves her den when it is absolutely necessary . She is feeding her kittens so she needs attention too and we place her food and water in her den.The kittens sleep and drink, sometimes they fall asleep while drinking and waking up they immediately start suckling again. That is what kittens do the whole day: eating and sleeping. We are so privileged to be a part of this family and we invest our time in assisting mum.

After about two weeks the kittens will open their eyes. Sometimes it takes a few days before their eyes are completely opened. The kittens will still investigate their world with their noses, because it also takes time for their sight to develop. When we look in their gorgeous blue eyes we will immediately be mesmerized. They look at us with their starry, sapphire blue eyes and we can see the whole cosmos in them.
They also grow stronger and their moving is more coordinated, they move less wobbling in the den. They like to move around and let the others know that they are having fun. There is always a lot of meowing to be heard.
Or could it be that they are hungry?   Mummy meaeeeow,…..meaeeeow we are hungry…

Pay attention today and look for sparkling eyes in all colours, smile ☺☺.... and you will get a smile in return☺☺...in this manner will have another happy Bengal day.
