The birth of Baby's kittens.

I love to share with you moments that profoundly affects me: the birth of kittens.
This is something that I love to cover and celebrate these very special moments.
After 61 days of labour we take very special care of her and observe the mother to be closely. The last week of excited anticipation begins……

We love our Bengals and we understand each other rather well, but the last week of the pregnancy a Bengal cat mother- to -be, is all-out. Baby has very particular wishes. Her instincts take over so we clearly have problems communicating.  Her instinct tells her to search and create her nest. Just indulging her is the best option and I start showing her several options.
We have created a kittening box especially suitable for this event. It meets all requirements and above all else, it makes us possible to act quickly to assist her or resolve a situation in the best way possible.

Our Bengals are self-confident and determined naturally they chose their own nest. Baby choses a carton box and of course we don’t agree. Baby’s choice is less practical by all means we reluctantly accept her choice. It is impossible to have her change her mind; we will carry mother and her first born as soon as possible to our kittening box.  Her firstborn will be the most important being in the world so will come to terms later.

Baby gets a little nervous and she would like us to be with her and reassure her. She starts breathing shallow and rapidly and she starts fussing the bedding in her box. This stage can easily last as long as 24 hours. Baby needs our presence, encouragements and my singing, all Bengals love my singing. They are my faithful fans!
Her contractions start and the delivery stage is starting. Now I need support myself, because I am nervous and anxious.Baby will sense this and it will contribute to her own anxiety, in particular because this is her first pregnancy.
Baby’s contractions are once every 30 seconds, she breaths deeply and she growls sometimes. She also is purring loudly, my georgeous sweetheart.

When her first kitten is born and Baby immediately takes care of her baby. She bites the umbilical cord and her kitten immediately crawls towards its mother’s warm body and looks for a nipple to suck. After secondary contractions the placenta and the remains of the birth sac comes out and Baby eats these.

Just good for the soul:
