Liefjes first litter part 4

Liefje’s has her first litter and she was overwhelmed. We made a few suggestions for a den, but she was not satisfied and she kept looking for the perfect place to have her kittens.
Her first choice was all together on the sofa, but we carried her to a better place. She was still not confined, so we all spent time in her sturdy with her two gorgeous baby’s.
This I call savouring and we took delight in being roommates with Liefje’s happy family. We all enjoyed every minute of it.

Liefje’s DIY attempts where a very challenging our arguments were not heard.

This is is a sturdy which we use to go to the veterinarian or to a show. Is very roomy and our cats like to spend time in this sturdy. The cats are familiar with this sturdy and they feel very safe being in there, unfortunatelybut Liefje did not. She wanted to stay with us on the sofa, luckily we succeeded in getting her in the sturdy, but she had two conditions.
First of all she wanted us to join her and secondly she wanted a twilight atmosphere.

The first days and nights were very important for the baby’s, because they need warmth and mommies milk. For that reason we covered the sturdy with quilts and create safety and security for Liefje. It was very intimate to observe  the first interaction between mother and baby’s so closely. Liefje’s milk bar gave a very personal odour and we could hear her baby’s very well. We were very close them and we could hear the baby’s sniffing and following the smell of mommies milk bar. They undertook valiant efforts getting there while they started to clamber up their mother’s body. They are effectively equipped for climbing with their strong and sharp little claws. When I took a baby in my hand it grasped my finger and I was able to experience the effectivity of their claws. Those charming gorgeous baby’s had very sharp claws.

The sturdy was becoming more and more Liefje’s core territory although she  sometimes wandered in the Livingroom, to look for a better place. Liefje’s smell filled the sturdy but when we took a baby in our hand there was no smell at all. In nature it’s very dangerous for a new born to have a personal smell.
The babies made all kind of soft sounds, when they need mommy’s attention; they made a very loud squeaking sound when Liefje accidentally sits on them. I felt uncomfortable when Liefje did that, but after some twisting and squirming her baby got to her milk bar.

There always was a festive atmosphere at Liefje’s milk bar, the baby’s started rhythmically drumming mommy’s milk bar, and moving there little heads on the same rhythm. The fourth day they started dancing while drinking.
It is incomprehensible that the two sometimes fight for the same teat, Liefje has eighth of them, that appears to be enough, I think.

Liefje likes to report on the adventures of her two gorgeous kittens.
                            See you soon.
